- ROC Network Rail, Cinder Lane, York, YO26 4ZD
This visit is an opportunity for delegates to experience a behind the scenes tour of the operating floor at York’s Rail Operating Centre. York’s will be the largest of the 12 proposed centres across Britain, controlling the East Coast main line from King’s Cross to the Scottish border, along with many cross-country and local routes. Moving control of signalling to the newer, more modern ROC, means passengers will benefit from more reliable journeys as the ROC gives signallers a greater overview of the railway. This will help to further develop a centre of excellence with greater resilience when disruption occurs and is more cost effective to run. This visit will be of particular relevance to anybody interested in train signalling and operations, especially those who are studying on one of the IRO courses.
Guests should meet outside WH Smith on the concourse at York station at 1700hrs. The visit will end at approx 19:00hrs.
There are only 12 places available for this event and we expect this visit to be very popular, so please register as soon as possible, as places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If a delegate subsequently cannot attend, it is essential that they notify the organiser; late advice or failure to notify may reduce eligibility for subsequent events. Further details will be given to those who have been allocated a place.
This Event is now Full.
