The Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship is aimed at participants who can take responsibility for managing a team or a separate project.

Through the course you will learn how to support, manage, and develop team members, manage projects, plan, and monitor workloads and resources. You will also be able to take responsibility for delivering operational plans, resolving problems, and building relationships.


Requirements for study:

  • 20% of contracted time spent in off-the-job-training
  • Maths and English Functional Skills Level 2 (or equivalent) by completion of apprenticeship
  • 16-month programme

How the Apprenticeship Works:

  • Attendance at 8 face to face teaching days for apprenticeship standard content
  • Attendance at 4 rail contextualised workshops from IRO rail industry experts
  • Regular 6-week reviews with IRO and line manager to guide development opportunities
  • Access to online learning materials
  • Access to webinars for further learning and behavioural development
  • Preparation for EPA (End Point Assessment) workshop
