Event Details

Date:                    Thursday 11th October 2018

Time:                    18:30

Location:           Blackburn Station

With extra services, longer trains and new rolling stock on order, Northern have built new stabling and light maintenance facilities. Blackburn is one of these, opened last year on the site of a long disused coal depot. It’s used for cleaning, fuelling and examining DMUs. We will see a few trains rolling in as the evening peak starts to wind down and being serviced for the next day.

Join us to discover what kind of work can be done here and what work must wait until trains get diagrammed back to larger depots like Newton Heath.

Meet at Blackburn station at 18:10. Safety boots or shoes are a requirement; high visibility vests will be provided.

Light refreshments will be available.
