- Hornsey Depot, Hornsey Depot, Hornsey
We have a fantastic opportunity to see not one but two of Govia Thameslink Railway’s depots. We will be visiting both the old and the new Hornsey depots to show a comparison of the two and the facilities they feature. There has been a depot at Hornsey since 1850 with the current train shed being built when electrification was introduced in 1973. The new Hornsey depot will serve the 25 six car 717 trains to be introduced on the Great Northern route from August 2018. The tour will include both sites of the depot, including the wheel lathe, carriage wash and maintenance shed.
We welcome all IRO members, anyone that works in the railway industry (or is looking to join), and anyone interested in becoming a member of the IRO. However, places are strictly limited for this visit so you must book in advance for this trip.
To register your interest please request an on-line booking below (if you are a member you will be need to be logged onto the website to do this). For non-members contact Rob Mawby: firstname.lastname@example.org. All applicants will be contacted to let you know whether you have a place on the visit or not, together with joining instructions, including a time and location to rendez-vous prior to the depot visit.
This event is fully booked.
